Mountain of the Lord Ministeries

We at Mountain of the Lord Ministries, Feeding Scheme, Harmony Hill, Sabie is a independent scheme, with just a vision to supply sandwiches to the scholars attending the local school.

At first it was very difficult with no funding only small amounts of jam and peanut butter that ran out before the week ended. We then approached the bakery who donated bread. But peanut butter and jam was still a challenge. After much prayer and exposure to the beautiful business people of Sabie, God send an angel our way. We got one sponsor who bought peanut butter and jam on a monthly basis. Praise the Lord. After many years of struggling to see this vision being fulfilled we feed plus minus 180 children with 2 sandwiches daily before school. We also feed the Sunday school children with a full meal every Sunday. With the donations that we receive we now make sure that each child get one fruit and one yogurt once a week. Whatever we have left by end of year we give them a small party.

We are so grearful to the tube race and the people involved for giving us the opportunity to have a part of this race. It is not always easy because we never know where our donations will come from. But the thing that keeps us going is to see the smiles and appreciation on the kids faces. That sandwiches is sometimes the only meal they will have. You need to know that you have part in all of this. Some children we feed from grade R to grade 7. We thank God that He makes it possible.
